Even though we have always had very busy lives, up until the last 6 – 8 months we were always more than happy to make time to help out at the UKWCT and were proud to assist with Roger’s vision of educating others and working to keep wolves in the wild.

It is however with very heavy hearts that we have both decided to withdraw our support as volunteers at the UKWCT with immediate effect.

We had hoped that downgrading ourselves from ASH to Handler in May would mean that we would once again be able to enjoy our time volunteering. However, since then, in our opinion, the situation has continued to deteriorate.

As a result of various organisational changes over many months - changes in the direction of the Trust, the loss through manipulation or resignation of key volunteers and incomprehensible fundamental decisions which have been made along the way - it has become evident that there is no future for us within the Trust.

We no longer have any confidence in the decision making process at the UKWCT nor the decisions made, which makes our future there untenable.

We are only too aware that the decision we are making to withdraw our support is really only of any significance to us and is unlikely to cause any great consternation at Senior level in the Trust. That in itself is an illustration of how times have changed. The way it feels now to be a volunteer at the Trust has changed beyond all recognition over the past few years and in no way for the better.  There used to be a cohesive camaraderie which sadly no longer exists.

We wish all the wolves a long & healthy future and will miss working with a number of the volunteers.
